Model United Nations Conference
I had the privilege of attending a Model United Nations Conference. Four Year 11 students, Liam McNamara, Scarlet Galeotti, Sophia Kim and Cooper Dickson, represented Norwood and they were allocated Greece as their UN country. The event involved each ‘country’ presenting to the ‘Assembly’ and then debating a series of amendments. These required quite a deal of negotiating and bargaining between delegates in order to gather sufficient support to carry motions leading to a final vote and Resolution. It was a fascinating experience for all and our students represented the College admirably. I was certainly very proud of the manner in which our students performed, amongst many Year 12 Politics students from the 29 other teams.
