Each year the College runs a musical production; a full-scale production of a well-known musical play. Students can participate in many areas, including acting, singing, dancing, backstage roles, set construction, lighting and make-up.
The Performing Arts Faculty is very excited to announce that the Musical for 2019 will be Curtains - The Musical Comedy, Whodunit! Our production will be held at the 'Karralyka Centre' - Ringwood.
The cast of over 50 students have endured tireless rehearsals led by Rohan Johnson, along with vigorous singing practice, with Jo Dema and Ruth Barry, and hours of dance, dance, dance! with student choreographer Sophie Brindle. All this to truly prove themselves as those special kinds of people known as ‘Show People’ and to ensure this year’s show will be a ‘Tough Act to Follow’.
Here’s the synopsis:
When fading Hollywood diva, Jessica Cranshaw, is struck ill and later dies on the opening night of their western Robin Hood musical stageshow, it seems all aspirations of a Broadway run are dashed.
Enter local Boston detective Lieutenant Frank Cioffi, who investigates the suspicious circumstances and reminds the cast and crew that ‘The Show Must Go On’!
As committed to musical theatre as he is to law and order, Cioffi offers direction and advice to save the show, while unravelling the mystery surrounding the mysterious deaths and attempting to catch the killer.
